Mighty & Kin

A fresh new brand for Mighty & Kin, a PR agency with 20 years behind it. We captured their energy and ambition in a bold identity. Something more future-facing, creatively bold, and built to make more noise. Then brought it to life through a new website and a practical toolkit of brand assets.

The Challenge

The hardest part of any rebrand is walking away from a name people already know and trust. For PR Agency MTJ (now Mighty & Kin), that name carried over two decades of reputation.

The letters stood for the previous ownership, but the work stood for something clients relied on. Following the management buyout, a new chapter called for a new identity. The question was not whether to rebrand. It was how to do it without throwing away the reputation that the old name had earned.

We know that pressure first-hand. We rebranded our own agency to Rise & Amplify in 2024, which meant we came into this project with a perspective most agencies could not offer.

The Strategy

The new name set the strategic direction from the start.

“MTJ PR” described who used to own the business. “Mighty & Kin” describes how the agency thinks and works. That shift from history to intent shaped everything.

“Mighty” stands for strength with purpose: energy, bravery, and backing ideas the team genuinely believes in. “Kin” reflects trust, loyalty, and meaningful relationships – with clients, within the team, and with the audiences they reach.

Together, the name states their values, ambition, and mission, which gave the visual identity something solid to express.

From there, our work focused on two crucial pillars:

  • A high-impact brand system with real energy behind it
  • A digital presence built to support what comes next

Each decision was filtered through one question: does this match their new identity? A bold and modern aesthetic for an agency whose job is to make brands impossible to ignore.

Typography

The typeface pairing is built around the brand’s core proposition. Delivering power and presence at headline level with purpose and clarity to the detail – bold where it needs to be, precise where it matters.

The Result

The output covered the full shift, strategically and visually:

Creative Strategy – we developed a creative strategy that reflected who the team are, where they’re heading and what they stand for – brought together through the proposition: PR with Power and Purpose.

Brand Identity – a bold, no-nonsense mark that puts the name centre stage and gives the brand an unmistakable sense of confidence with different interpretations to work across any touchpoint.

Design System – we built a design system around Mighty & Kin’s core proposition – bold, energetic and designed to make an impact. A vivid RGB palette, communication-led graphic assets, and flexible templates create consistency across every touchpoint, giving the brand solid toolkit for campaigns, communications, and beyond.

Guidelines – a simple toolkit made for everyday application and developed with a tone of voice to that matches the visual identity and gives the team a consistent way to communicate on all channels.

Website Design and Build – a digital presence for the next chapter and ready to stand the test of time.

Key Takeaway

A rebrand is a strategic shift, not a cosmetic update. The name needs meaning, the design system needs to express it, and the website needs to bring it to life. When those elements align, the brand keeps the equity it has built and opens up new space to grow.

If you are an agency planning a rebrand, or an ambitious brand preparing for its next chapter, the principles here apply directly to your challenge. Let's build something you are proud to put your name on.

“Rise & Amplify didn’t just build our website, they helped shape our brand. The result is brilliant, bold and completely us. Plus, they’re a great team to work with.”
